Word Twist — A word puzzle where you slide rows and columns of a 7×7 grid until every hidden word lines up. Available on the App Store. The gameplay notes below describe the upcoming version 1.1 update.
Where can I get Word Twist?
Word Twist is available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. Version 1.1 is in preparation; its Endless play, revised timers, and other improvements will arrive with that update.
What are the game modes?
Daily, Blackout, and Speed Run. In version 1.1, choose Daily for a dated puzzle or Endless for fresh puzzles whenever you want. Daily and Blackout allow one Daily attempt per difficulty; Speed Run can be retried. Blackout starts with a memorization phase, then alternates visible and dark phases; slide only in the dark. Version 1.1 Speed Run limits are Easy 120 seconds, Medium 150 seconds, and Hard 120 seconds.
How do the difficulties differ?
Every puzzle is a 7×7 grid. Easy hides 3 short words with unlimited hints and undos. Medium hides 5 words with 3 hints and 10 undos. Hard hides 7 longer words with no starting hints and 3 undos. Version 1.1 removes Quick Play and Shuffle. Fast, hint-free solves earn higher star ratings. Give Up reveals the current puzzle’s solution.
What is Word Twist Unlimited?
An optional subscription at $2.99 per month (US) with a 7-day free trial for eligible subscribers. It unlocks every theme, tile style, celebration effect, profile cosmetic, and app icon, removes ads, raises the streak-shield cap from 3 to 5, and applies the 2× daily bonus to eligible Daily wins while subscribed. No puzzles or modes are paywalled. It renews monthly until you cancel in your App Store subscription settings, and the trial converts to a paid month unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends.
Can I remove ads with a one-time purchase?
Version 1.1 includes support for Remove Ads Forever, a planned $9.99 US one-time purchase. It is not yet available in the production App Store catalog. When offered in the app’s Store, it removes ads independently of Unlimited, does not unlock paid cosmetics, and can be restored with the purchasing Apple Account. The Store shows the localized price and availability.
How do I restore a purchase or cancel?
Open the Store from the main menu and tap Restore Purchases using the Apple Account that bought the product. This restores an active subscription or a permanent ad-removal purchase when available. To cancel or manage your subscription, tap Manage Subscription in the Store or go to iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
How do streaks and XP work?
Finishing a Daily-schedule attempt advances its mode’s daily activity and streak. Wins and losses earn XP based on the result, difficulty, speed, and words found; hints affect stars. The first eligible Daily win receives a 2× bonus. In version 1.1, Endless earns normal XP and general badges but no daily streak, daily bonus, weekly rank, or ranked records. Friend challenges award no progression. Streak shields can protect a missed day; the free cap is 3 and Unlimited raises it to 5.
How do I reset my progress or start fresh?
Open Settings from the main menu and choose Reset all progress. This permanently removes all progress, XP, and streaks and cannot be undone. Deleting the app has the same effect.
I lost my streak or progress unexpectedly. Can it be restored?
Because progress lives on-device and we do not run a backend, we are not able to restore lost data remotely. If you reinstalled the app or upgraded to a new device without an iCloud backup, that data is gone. We are sorry, we know streaks are precious.
The app crashed or something looks broken. What should I do?
Please email us with your device model, iOS version, and a short description of what happened. If you can reproduce it reliably, a screen recording is enormously helpful. We take every bug report seriously.
Does Word Twist require an internet connection?
Puzzles are generated on your device and can be played offline. Daily uses dated puzzles; version 1.1 Endless creates a fresh puzzle on demand. A connection is used for ads and required consent checks, Game Center leaderboards, App Store purchases, and enabled analytics or crash reports.
How do I control tracking, ads, and analytics?
Use iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking to turn off Word Twist. The app also shows Apple Tracking Permission with an Open iOS Settings link. Declining permission prevents Google ads, analytics, and crash reporting from starting; revoking it stops future collection when the app resumes. Gameplay and bonus hints remain available. How do I delete my data?
Use Reset all progress in Settings to erase local game progress. This does not delete provider records, backups, exported diagnostics, purchases, or Game Center scores. Contact us about service-specific deletion requests. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
