How do I join the Word Twist beta?
Word Twist is currently in development and will launch on TestFlight soon. Send us an email with the subject 'Word Twist TestFlight' and we will add you to the list when invites go out.
What are the eight game modes?
Daily, Blackout, Frozen, Fog of War, Mirror, Earthquake, Marathon, and Speed Run. Each mode rewrites the core rules, from a partially fogged grid to a fully mirrored board that flips mid-solve. Daily challenges reset every 24 hours. Marathon runs as long as you can keep going.
How do hints work?
Hints reveal the target position of one letter in a word you haven't found yet. The number of hints you get depends on the difficulty. Easy gives you unlimited hints, Medium gives you a handful, and Hard gives you none. Once you use a hint it's gone for that round.
How do streaks and XP work?
Completing a Daily puzzle extends your streak. XP is awarded based on the difficulty tier (5x5 / 7x7 / 10x10) and how cleanly you solved it. Each difficulty has a per-day limit so streaks always feel meaningful.
How do I reset my progress or start fresh?
All Word Twist data is stored locally on your device. To reset, delete the app and reinstall it from the App Store. This permanently removes all progress, XP, and streaks and cannot be undone.
I lost my streak or progress unexpectedly. Can it be restored?
Because progress lives on-device and we do not run a backend, we are not able to restore lost data remotely. If you reinstalled the app or upgraded to a new device without an iCloud backup, that data is gone. We are sorry, we know streaks are precious.
The app crashed or something looks broken. What should I do?
Please email us with your device model, iOS version, and a short description of what happened. If you can reproduce it reliably, a screen recording is enormously helpful. We take every bug report seriously.
Does Word Twist require an internet connection?
No. All gameplay runs fully offline. An internet connection is only used to sync daily puzzle seeds and to submit TestFlight feedback.
How do I turn off analytics?
Open the app, tap the gear icon on the main menu to open Settings, and toggle off 'Share Anonymous Usage Data'. This immediately stops all telemetry collection. No personal data is ever collected regardless of this setting.
How do I delete my data?
Word Twist stores all data locally on your device. We hold none of it on our servers. To delete it, simply delete the app. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
